While a 10% increase in CPU clock speed and 1.2GB extra system memory doesn’t seem like a particularly ground-breaking overhaul
Now that hugely ambitious games like Lords of the Fallen and Dragon’s Dogma 2 are struggling to maintain solid frame rates on the base console, this could be the ticket for those searching for the smoothest possible experiences.
You thinking of getting a Pro?I'm a bit worried about fan noise and coil whine due to the increased power consumption, hopefully they don't end up with a PS4 Pro situation. I still have PTSD from that jet.

Might be louder than the current PS5 but no way will it be anywhere near PS4 levels of noise.I'm a bit worried about fan noise and coil whine due to the increased power consumption, hopefully they don't end up with a PS4 Pro situation. I still have PTSD from that jet.

I’ll get one day one. They have really good trade in systems here so I don’t expect it to be too expensive to upgrade.
We have EB Games here but they are struggling.Day one for me as well - I'm a sucker for a new console.
I did the trade-in thing when I went from the PS4 to the Pro as well, but those sorts of stores went the way of the dodo some time ago in these parts.

When I saw the leaks about the audio improvements I was like "There's no way KenMasters isn't getting this" lol
- PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) upscaling and anti-aliasing tech, Playstation Machine Learning (PML) and an AI Accelerator that supports 300 TOPS of 8 bit computation / 67 TFLOPS of 16-bit floating point. 2ms computation time penalty from 1080p->4K (DLSS on PC is 1.7ms) but optimization is ongoing.
Also leaked, two Case Studies of the PSSR tech for two unnamed first-party games :
Game 1 :
Standard PlayStation 5 1080p/60FPS Performance mode and 1800p/30FPS Fidelity mode
PlayStation 5 Pro – additional 1440p/60FPS mode using PSSR

Official name: No surprises here, as we now know for certain that the console will indeed be called "PS5 Pro".
PS5 Pro design: We were able to obtain a visual of the front of the new console's final packaging. This gave us an idea of the PS5 Pro's final design, which has never been leaked before. For copyright reasons, we won't be able to share this visual. However, you can see below a sketch we drew illustrating the design of the PS5 Pro.
The design is very similar to that of the PS5 Slim. The console's exterior is the same white color. 2 USB-C ports and the power button will also be present on the console's front panel. The first difference to be noticed from our sketch is the presence of three black stripes in the middle of the PS5 Pro's exterior. However, the type of front panel remains similar to that of the PS5 Slim. And we imagine that it will be possible to re-use the replacement front panels designed for the PS5 Slim.
No disc drive?
Unfortunately, we're not quite sure about this yet. After all, the visual we have is of a PS5 Pro without a disc drive. However, and even if we don't think this will be the case, we're not aware of the existence of an edition with a disc drive. Although it will undoubtedly be possible to affix a disc drive (as with the PS5 Slim), we think this is more a commercial choice on Sony's part, in order to launch this console onto the market at a competitive price by reducing the cost of the (optional for some) presence of a disc drive.
