It has a global directory (and you can add URLs I believe) and was smart enough to know I was in South Africa so finding Cape Talk was quick and easy.

Not really meant for modern streaming services but I guess you can use bluetooth. It's really more about getting the old radio experience but with the internet rather than radio waves. Where I moved to picking up Cape Town AM channels are near impossible.

Upgrading my wife's library/study while she's away. Getting rid of her fold down wall desk for a proper work space and the sleeper couch we never use for something more space efficient and comfortable for her to read in:

Back to this global directory.

I use an Android app called myTuner. I like to listen to Mix FM sometimes, but they block me from listening to SA stations unless I use a VPN.

How does this radio circumvent that? Surely they can't just allow all radios stations to be streamed globally?
 
After years of going back and forth as to whether or not it would be worth the investment, I sprung for a Dirac license last week.

I didn't expect it to work as well as it does, it basically made the same choices I did regarding the speaker cal, but was able to eliminate subwoofer phase cancellations that I could find no way around, while maintaining more headroom- very impressed:

Why not? That’s the whole idea, isn’t it?

I’m in SA so can’t test that (Mix FM). Give me a station to try.

Unless the streamer does geo-blocking I can’t see why it would be a problem. It’s just a URL and streaming protocol.
