I’m too casual or a rugby fan to be sorry about 6 nations. Just find that with this sport in particular, the minnow nations get hammered. Should basically have a mini tourney for them and the winner makes the World Cup.

Ask any of the players in those teams, and they will tell you it's a privilege to line up against the top tier teams, once in a life time experience to face off against the Haka for instance.

Putting them in their own tournament belittles their efforts, what needs to happen is investment & development from World Rugby to get the smaller teams playing more games between world cups. For instance Namibia only played 8 test matches between 2019 tournament & this year. The tier 1 teams are playing that each season. Then also more investment is needed from each country into their club competitions & inter country club tournaments.
 
Pollard gets the first kick. Put pollard at 12, bring in manie at 10. Then we have options for kickers
 
I get what you’re saying but it’s not happening in those countries which is why the smaller tournaments to upskill these countries before letting them play with the big boys will help them improve each other because let’s face it, nobody wants to watch these heavily one sided games all the time.

But then we would never have seen Japan beat the Boks like in 2015
 
Small nations got smashed for decades in the football WC until they eventually improved. You don't grow the game by excluding them.

You need to pick whether you an elite cup or a world cup.

I rather have a WC.
 
This win by portugal over fiji is why we want the smaller teams at the wc. If they aren't allowed to play you don't get these special wc moments.
Fantastic performance by them to get their first wc win.

Those were probably the best QF games i've seen at a World Cup, all of them nail biters pretty much. Don't think the Semis will be that close.
 
Not a rugby fan, but we found ourselves in an Irish pub Saturday night and it was hard not to get swept up in the atmosphere.
 
We'll probably be able to knock them out of both tournaments at the same time then. Since they lost to Afghanistan it might be a must win game for them.

Of course, they could do the same to us!
