Was it a high risk operation that was known beforehand, or was it an unfortunate complication?

Don't know if it's the origin but @Tribble, her husband and son were all seriously ill in hospital with Covid-19 Delta iirc. Her husband died in hospital.

This was the cause. We knew about his lung scarring but had no idea about the clots or that his heart was enlarged on the right side. I was blessed to get 3.5 more years with him - he was on a ventilator during covid. He was just getting his life together. Was finishing his Masters in Physics, was employed to work at Tuks. He has about 9 stories on the Site SpaceBattles that now will never be finished. I miss our discussions, reading his stories, watching the silly memes he sent me. This is my lowest low.

Current high is that I still have two wonderful children.
 
Also my lowest low: My step-daughter passed away 15 years ago in a motor accident, my wife (her mother) joined a FB group for parents that lost children and that helped her to cope for the first few years. She is much better now but still have her down days.

I don't want to call this a high but an I am very proud high: When she passed away she had a 4 year old daughter that my wife and I adopted, she finished school last year and is starting Varsity tomorrow. She is a very well balanced young lady today.

We also have another daughter who has a successful hair salon.

Through all the pain one must remember that you have other children that also needs your love and caring.
 
I got an increase today. :)
If it were not for my little tender scrolling job, I would be at the mercy of state medical "care"
The dream I had early this morning. I shared my bed with "a presence" :)

Low:
Nothing terrible. Just fallen into the bad habit of online window shopping for things I already have. Talking myself down is a time drain [points finger at himself, raises an eyebrow, and rolls his eyes]
 
Low - Have to go into London tomorrow cause my boss wants the team to get together for dinner, it's only 3 of us we don't need a get together :p

Extra Low - Back into London on Saturday as well.

High - It's to take my son to the Minecraft experience so it will be worth being around people for a bit.
 
High: Headed to London tomorrow to hang out with my brothers and do a little shopping with my wife. We booked a room above a pub, should be fun :)

Low: Trip by myself to SA after. It’s my Mom’s 70th. It’s a low because I didn’t leave on good terms with my Dad in Jan and a tough conversation is going to have to be had.

Looks like rain tomorrow :mad: I am also heading to London to renew daughters SA passport.
