Today's high and lows

Today's high and lows
Low: Feeling terribly hungover today and unable to concentrate on any one thing for long.

I don't drink much these days, but I was out with a friend last night having an initially cordial dinner, starting at 18:00, when we got into a heated debate during dessert. By that point I had one glass of champagne, one beer and one martini and I thought that would be that.

We ended up sitting there past closing, around 23:00, a period over which he kept ordering drinks on my behalf insisting we go through the minutia of every point.

High: We managed to settle things amicably and despite some rocky moments a good time was had.

High: An old fight promotion I used to be a part of reached out to me to help relaunch the promotion next year, perks include a ringside VIP table with all the trimmings.

Low: Might be out of the country on the day of the event, we'll have to see how travel dates pan out next year.

Extra High: Flying out to CPT next week!

I just know that after 5 hours he finally realized you never admit when you're wrong :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

He was the one keen on the debate, being more invested in the subject than myself, hence ordering drinks on my behalf so I'd feel obliged to stay. It's about understanding each other, not who's right or wrong - as secure adults we enjoy the rational exchange of ideas.

High: Family from SA arrive next week.
Low: I need to get the house cleaned upside down, inside out coz I'm too cheap to pay £70 for a cleaner for the day.

Low: car battery died and don’t have a second car to go buy one.

High: mobile service coming to replace it. Good thing I tried driving today and not only on Wednesday when on the way to family an hour away… would have missed out on xmas.

High - It's Christmas tomorrow, looking forward to my son and wife opening their presents.

Extra High - We aren't going anywhere tomorrow, spending it in our new place.

Low: End of the holiday.
Low: Flying back on Christmas Eve.
High: Was a great holiday, SA looks better than we left I feel, happy about that.
High: Looking forward to going back home and resting. Also looking forward to normal, calm roads and less people everywhere.
High: PS5 Pro is waiting for me and I have catching up to do.

High: Chilled start to the holiday for the most part, spending the first half with my wife’s family.

Low: Mother-in-Law picks today, the last day at her place, to help her pick up some plants from Stodels. No problem, happy to do it.

Push the cart around for an hour or so while they pick and choose, drive back with the plants to her house, as we get out the car she asks me to move this lawn boulder there, then uproot that plant and place it here… ended up with a pick axe in hand breaking rocks digging holes for the new bushes.

She’s a tiny lady with osteoporosis, I understand she needs help, but I would have appreciated her asking for it before the time (or at all).

The one thing that makes me smile is she kept wanting to stand right behind me to watch while I swung the pick axe. I don’t think she had any conception of the potential danger!

Thank you. He developed blood clots and had an embolism. Went into theatre to clear the clots and his heart gave in. I guess the clots got in there too. He would have been 30 this year.

Most days are low
Sunday at Calabash was a high though. Really enjoyed the whole show.
