Price increase incoming

Starting July 10, 2024, the following updates to Xbox Game Pass will take effect:

Price changes will go into effect for new members for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Xbox Game Pass Core, and PC Game Pass.
Game Pass for Console will no longer be available for new members.

Members who are already subscribed to Game Pass for Console and have automatic payment renewal enabled will be able to continue to enjoy their membership.

Also, a new Game Pass option, Xbox Game Pass Standard, will become available in the coming months. These changes will enable us to bring members more value and more great games to Game Pass.

Yeah...

" Core = no day one releases, limited games, no xCloud, no EA Play.

* Standard = no day one releases, all games, no xCloud, no EA Play.

* Ultimate = day one releases, all games, xCloud, EA Play

I think Console remains until you let your sub expire, or maybe they will at some point stop it.

We're still paying 55% of what the US is charged, so decent regional pricing.

Some games available with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on day one will not be immediately available with Xbox Game Pass Standard and may be added to the library at a future date

I hope this means "COD won't be on it Day 1 unless you pay more, but we'll give you the old one in 9 months time".
It would be disappointing if all the other first party titles that said "Coming to Gamepass Day 1" only end up on Ultimate Day 1

I think that’s exactly what it means.

So in USD it’s $240 per year now?

That’s 3-4 new games and you still get good value. So once again it just comes down to them getting the games out and it still makes sense.

Not so much for those that play COD only though, not sure what those numbers would be.

Paying monthly is silly though.

Buying 3 or 6 month vouchers works out way cheaper.

I haven't seen 12 month vouchers for a while now, maybe they are discontinued.

I bought 3 month vouchers last year to stack my subscription, that worked out to £7.33 per month as opposed to the actual £12.99 (soon to be £14.99). So there savings to be made.

Why don't you migrate your account back to an SA one? Much cheaper
